“By organizing a traditional tender, Vilnius Municipality strengthens the field of culture providing an opportunity to continue the favorite projects of Vilnius residents and to develop new and non-traditional initiatives. We are grateful to the culture fosterers, who in this difficult period of the beginning of 2022 provide opportunities for people with different needs to spend their leisure time actively and meaningfully, to get involved in cultural activities. Future projects draw attention to the fact that the city can become open and attractive, and every resident and guest of Vilnius can discover the closest and favorite activity“, – says Vilnius deputy Mayor Edita Tamošiūnaitė.
In 2022, performances for people with individual needs, urban workshops and music festivals will be organized in Vilnius. Vilnius culture will also be presented in the international space. Vilnius residents and guests of the city will be invited to visit cinema screenings under the Liubart bridge or just in the city meadows. Project organizers will invite children, young people and seniors to get involved in the projects. It is also planned to implement activities promoting tolerance and initiatives of national communities.
The trend shall include as many as 14 different funding programs. Visual arts, performing arts, music, cinema, literature and publishing, ethnic culture and amateur art, cultural and creative industries, organization of Vilnius 700th anniversary, culture or art festivals, space rental, cultural education, digital art, cultural dissemination abroad and projects in the field of ethnic communities.
This year, the tender participants is being organized in two stages for the first time. The first shall be dedicated for the first half of 2022 and ongoing projects. The second stage is scheduled for release in April. The recommendation of independent experts to support a smaller number of projects, but to increase funding per project, is a minimum of 2,000 Euros per project and a maximum of 5,000 Euros.
Funding is available for both ongoing and new projects. Applicants include not only highly experienced organizations but also newly established ones.
