While waiting for the 700th anniversary of Vilnius, there will be no shortage of art in the capital. 147 cultural projects have already been allocated 418,872 Euros in the first stage. A total of 277 applications have been submitted for the Culture Support Program project competition at this stage.
“By organizing a traditional tender, Vilnius Municipality strengthens the field of culture providing an opportunity to continue the favorite projects of Vilnius residents and to develop new and non-traditional initiatives. We are grateful to the culture fosterers, who in this difficult period of the beginning of 2022 provide opportunities for people with different needs to spend their leisure time actively and meaningfully, to get involved in cultural activities. Future projects draw attention to the fact that the city can become open and attractive, and every resident and guest of Vilnius can discover the closest and favorite activity“, – says Vilnius deputy Mayor Edita Tamošiūnaitė.
In 2022, performances for people with individual needs, urban workshops and music festivals will be organized in Vilnius. Vilnius culture will also be presented in the international space. Vilnius residents and guests of the city will be invited to visit cinema screenings under the Liubart bridge or just in the city meadows. Project organizers will invite children, young people and seniors to get involved in the projects. It is also planned to implement activities promoting tolerance and initiatives of national communities.
