The Ministry decided to accommodate the Ukrainians temporarily in Alytus and Kaunas – humanitarian aid stays in Vilnius
As the flows of refugees have decreased, the Ministry of the Interior decided to accommodate the Ukrainian citizens in temporary accommodation centres in Alytus and Kaunas cities. Vilnius City takes care about transportation of the newly arrived war refugees from Vilnius to Alytus or Kaunas. Besides, the passenger carriage company “LTG Link” offers free transportation on local routes in Lithuania to the Ukrainian citizens. The Ukrainian citizens who want to make use of free transportation will need to show their Ukrainian passport or persona identity card (birth certificate in case of children).
The temporary registration centre located at Blindžių str. 24A, Vilnius, will be closed and the service of temporary accommodation will not be provided any more in the centre.
Non-governmental organisations, Lithuanian Caritas and the Lithuanian Red Cross society, continue to meet the refugees, small numbers of whom come to the centre on Blindžių street. They are providing humanitarian aid services. The volunteers are helping with clothes, items, bedding, shoes, toys and hygienic means to the war refugees. The humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian is available on work days from 10 am until 5 pm.
Registration of the Ukrainian citizens in Vilnius, their consulting on the issues of employment and social services will continue to be provided at Vytenio str. 18.
The services of temporary accommodation, social services and consultations on the issues of employment and social services in Kaunas are provided in the refugee registration centre Vytauto ave. 79. Alytus registration centre is providing all the above services at A. Juozapavičiaus str. 33.
