The central bridges of the city (the Green Bridge, the White Bridge, and the Žvėrynas Bridge), the Town Hall of Vilnius, and the Three Crosses monument were illuminated today with the colours of the flag of Israel – white and blue.

“What the people of Israel are going through today, is truly shocking. We wholeheartedly support the suffering country in our hearts and thoughts. Vilnius’s connection with the Jewish people is strong and deep; we are closely related nations, whose paths are historically connected. And during this difficult time, we wholeheartedly support the suffering nation and express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims,” Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas said.

This weekend, Israel was hit by rocket attacks carried out by Hamas. Vicious attacks are happening throughout the country, which was placed under a state of war.
